Well, you wound up here because your browser can't handle JavaScript, or you have disabled pop-ups. Or I wrote the code wrong. I personally blame dibbuks. No big deal, you don't need JavaScript to see my site; you just miss out on some of the extraneous bells and whistles. This page lists all my comments on my ships, so you don't have to keep clicking each one.
Back to Origami Diagrams
Pitch Black
A scary creature from the movie Pitch Black. My most complex design, it doesn't have full diagrams. Try your hand on a crease pattern. See Photo Gallery for more pictures.
Bulldozer
One of several earth-movers I played around with. See the Photo Gallery for more.
Cat Nap
The head was taken from a dollar bill fold by Ken Kawamura. The rest of the model is just a fish base; Ken did the hard work :-)
Pterodactyl
Creator or cheapskate? I saw a pterodactyl model in a book, and thought it was so cool. Instead of buying the book, I spent a month coming up with my own.
Maybe I'll put the book on my birthday list...
Train
Sometimes I am surprised by what I actually come up with when I try to create something. I started doodling distractedly wondering how could I design a train, and suddenly there it was, about 90% complete in my hand!
Train Cars
I found myself desperately trying to make more trains, even though I'm not particularly interested by them. I guess I just didn't want the engine to be lonely. Here are three variations of cars to go with the engine.
Train Caboose
In order to bring closure to this 'train'
of thought, I had to make a caboose. The wheels are a little forced,
but I think it still works.
Mortarboard
Here is a hastily diagrammed mortarboard I made for my brother-in-law's graduation.
I had made Kawahata's Yoda with a black robe and then realized he needed a cap to go with his gown.
Make the cap from a piece of paper quarter the size used for Yoda, and it will fit fairly well.
Dollar Bill Parrot
This little bird will perch on the edge of a cup
or on the edge of a shelf. He was the result of a failed attempt to fold
Pasquale D'Auria's Uccello che Becca (eating bird?
found on the CDO website)
from memory. After looking at it the day before. I guess it's safe
to say I don't have a photographic memory.
Vulture
I have seen more detailed models, but I still am
fond of this model. I especially like the use of both colors of the paper
in this model. Maybe I could develop it into a bald eagle. Make a whole bunch and have them cluster around a 'deceased' origami failure!
